hands prayingWe have had a busy and exciting month. Below are some of the highlights.

Community Prayer: We continue to pray with church and community members at their locations of work. God had planted this idea in our minds before we arrived in Boardman, to live, but we were not able to schedule time for this until the holidays had passed. We have enjoyed seeing where folks work and getting to know a little bit about each person. We plan to continue praying with people as God leads.

Flagpole Prayer: Another God nudging… At the start of the year, we began praying at the City Hall flagpoles each Sunday afternoon at 12:30. This is open to the public. The Lord is using this time to unite us and to bring community members together to pray over Boardman and over our nation and world. We are greatly encouraged by this and by those who are faithfully coming to pray.

Hospital Visits: We have visited with numerous people in recent weeks. Those times of prayer and visitation are a blessing for us and we value each one.

Meals: We have begun sharing meals and coffee dates with people in the church and in our community. This is another avenue for prayer and unity.

It would seem prayer and unity are a big focus for 2020!

Community Outreach Team: Shara felt led to start a community outreach team. We currently have 9 people on the team. This has also been very exciting and we have seen God moving in this each step of the way. This team will share resources, refer people who need help, come together for fundraisers, and more.

Bible Studies and Discipleship Classes: Our weekly Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings, and Discipleship Classes are going well. We always find ourselves refreshed during these times.

Pastor/Wife Luncheons: Each Tuesday we continue to attend the pastor and wife luncheons at the CBBA office.

Senior Center: We enjoy eating and chatting with people on Thursdays at the Senior Center.

Chamber Meetings: The monthly Chamber Meetings are always encouraging. Boardman is growing by leaps and bounds!

Our children are involved with AWANA, swim practice, basketball, and more. They are loving Boardman and are thankful God brought us here. We are in the process of purchasing a pig for 4H and the kids are anxious to meet their new friend.

We consistently find ourselves surprised by the fact that we have lived here just 3.5 short months.

We love and appreciate you all and look forward to what God has in store!

P.S. We begin the “Foundations of our Faith” classes this Sunday, February 16 at 9:45am. This is for TWEENS and TEENS ages 10-16. Pastor Rick will lead this class with Shara and JennyBeth. The material will focus on the principal teachings of Christianity in order to give our youth a firm foundation in the faith.
